Thanksgiving Is My Favorite Holiday

When I moved to the U.S. over 20 years ago, I adopted many traditions, but none have resonated with me quite like Thanksgiving. It’s more than just a holiday—it’s a moment to reflect, celebrate, and connect across boundaries.

Over the years, Thanksgiving has integrated into the fabric of my life, becoming a time to pause and appreciate the richness that life offers. It’s a celebration that invites us to slow down and take a deeper look at our lives, our relationships, and the things we sometimes take for granted.

Thanksgiving serves as an important reminder to slow down, take stock of where we are, and acknowledge the people who support us along the way. It’s an opportunity to reflect on life’s abundance—the relationships, the experiences, and even the challenges that shape who we are. Too often, we rush through life without stopping to fully appreciate these blessings, but gratitude is at the core of this holiday, offering us a powerful reminder to honor what truly matters.

As we gather with family and friends, I’m also reminded of the broader world and how we can share our abundance. Thanksgiving isn’t just about what’s on our own table but about recognizing the collective responsibility we have to foster a more inclusive and caring community. We can all contribute to spreading compassion, understanding, and peace, no matter where we are or how much we have.

This Thanksgiving, I invite each of us to commit to small acts of kindness that ripple outwards. These small gestures, whether in our personal lives or through our work, create a safer, more compassionate world for all. It’s in these small actions that we see the potential for real change—one moment of kindness at a time.

As my family gathers this year, I want to extend my heartfelt Thanksgiving wishes to you and yours. May this holiday season bring you love, laughter, and the warmth of shared moments with those who matter most. Thank you for being a part of this journey.

Together, may we continue to embrace gratitude, celebrate life’s imperfections, and build a better world for ourselves and future generations.
