It's Your Time to Shine

From the moment we are born, we carry an undeniable, unshakable light. Some call it energy, others potential, and some might say it’s purpose. Whatever you name it, the truth remains—our light is not meant to be hidden.

Yet, too often, we dim it. Society teaches us to conform, to blend in, to avoid making others uncomfortable with our brilliance. Women, especially, are conditioned to take up less space, to minimize their impact, to wait for permission before stepping into their power. But here’s the truth: No one is coming to give you that permission. You have to take it.

Think about the moon. It never stays the same—it shifts, grows, wanes, and returns stronger.

Life is cyclical. There will be moments when you feel like you are at your lowest, barely glowing, uncertain if you will ever shine again. But if history—both personal and collective—has taught us anything, it is that darkness never lasts. We rise, we transform, and we come back with even more radiance.

The problem? Too many people fear the low points. They see moments of doubt, failure, or exhaustion as proof that they are not meant for greatness. They forget that growth often happens in the quiet, in the unseen moments of struggle.

In coaching high-performing executives, I see a recurring theme—people waste an extraordinary amount of energy on distractions. The endless meetings, the busywork, the overcommitments. They tell themselves they don’t have time for reflection, for strategy, for true leadership.

But let’s be clear: What you make time for is what you value. If you never carve out space to nourish your own growth, how do you expect to evolve? The people who maximize their leadership potential are the ones who fiercely protect their time, who recognize that the most valuable asset they have is not money, status, or title—it’s energy.

Every person has a unique brilliance. A perspective that no one else can offer. A way of solving problems, of inspiring others, of creating impact that is entirely their own. But too many people play small.

They second-guess themselves. They overanalyze. They wait for a perfect moment that will never come. And in doing so, they rob the world of what only they can give.

This is your reminder: You were not placed in this world to be passive. You are here to learn, to grow, and to illuminate others. And if you find yourself shrinking—whether out of fear, self-doubt, or exhaustion—remember the moon. Even when you can’t see its full glow, it is still there, waiting for its moment to shine again.

What’s one way you can reclaim your light today? Is it setting a boundary? Speaking up? Making a bold decision? Whatever it is, take one step. The world is waiting.
